An army of clones?

Argument in favor of The United States should not have an official language

An army of clones?
Rating: 1

It seems like our country is facing far graver and significantly more pressing issues than a national language. Yet making English the offical language of the United States has surfaced on the Republican agenda. Republican candidates ran Spanish ads in Florida, though they supported making English the national language. A national language is nothing but a ploy to diminish diversity in the United States. The United States is not meant to be a whitebread nation; it is supposed to be a blend of all cultures and lifestyles. Americans often seem to believe that English is the official world language, and that everyone should or does speak English. The fact that Americans are generally unilingual is a testament to our laziness. In most European countries, even high schoolers know more than one language, and often three or four.
